We follow a consistent and disciplined approach that keeps our Theory of Change at the core of our investment practice, ensuring rigorous alignment between
intentional impact, investment decisions and the
outcomes we report.

Investment Approach - ファンドのTheory of Change

Innovation arises not from isolated elements, but from three essential forces woven together. Only when all three are woven into one continuum do we define a true 'SEEDS'.

Ideas

From the perspective of originality, we assess how intellectual property, barriers to entry and new solutions or perspectives are woven together.

Science

From the perspective of scientific validity, we assess peer-reviewed research and other critical evidence that underpins the venture.

Needs

From the perspective of market need, we conduct extensive market evaluation grounded in quantifiable analysis to clarify the scale and dynamics of potential demand.

    Weaving Systems Thinking into Practice

We do not limit ourselves to KPIs or numerical evaluation.
Instead, we apply systems thinking to understand social and business change as a woven web of causal relationships.
Rather than settling for linear frameworks such as logic models, we engage with the feedback loops, institutional constraints and human–environment interactions that shape society, revealing the deeper patterns that drive systemic change.

Designing a Theory of Change that
    Moves People

We believe that a meaningful Theory of Change must move people. Grounded in systems thinking, we first design a ToC that inspires human action and then translate it into a logic model.
What we pursue is not merely a logic model, but a model that moves people — the foundation of our investment decisions and portfolio partnership.

Transforming Reports into Tools for Co-Creation

We treat our Impact Performance Report not as a record of results but as a blueprint for shared learning between investors, portfolio companies and stakeholders. This shifts the relationship from monitoring to co-creation, enabling both the fund and its portfolio companies to experience genuine system change. Through this practice, we differentiate ourselves not as a fund that merely measures outputs and outcomes, but as one that activates systems and moves people and society.

SIIFIC Wellness Fund

The Fund was established in June 2023 through the partnership of Kazu Umeda, Reiri Miura and the Japan Social Innovation and Investment Foundation (SIIF). The fund aims to address structural social challenges in the wellness domain and to advance wellness equity in Japan - catalysing a shift from the mere extension of lifespan to a society where individuals engage with the quality of their health, including their activity, agency and lifestyle.
