The Rationale Behind Supporting ORTHOREBIRTH
In Japan, fractures and falls are a leading cause of elderly care needs. Such incidents, particularly common among the elderly, often stem from osteoporosis and reduced muscle strength. SIIFIC recognizes the urgent need to lessen the burden on families caring for the elderly and to curb the rising costs of elderly care by addressing these prevalent bone fracture challenges. Research highlights the difficulties with autografts and the low rate of bone fusion during implant surgeries. ORTHOREBIRTH’s innovative product, currently in development and containing Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP), named RBBM-S1, promises to address these critical concerns.
Artificial bone usage is notably high among the elderly, driven by the widespread occurrence of osteoporosis within this demographic. Thus, the demand for artificial bone is expected to grow in line with the aging population.
